Terry Anderson is a seasoned entrepreneur starting and running several real estate related ventures. Currently, he is Co-President and Co-Founder. Terry provides overall strategic direction, and leads the financial management, acquisition and investor relations functions. He has spearheaded the acquisition of over $1.5 billion of debt and real estate assets. He is involved in various real estate related operating companies including: Silverwest Hotels, Inspired Homes, APD Management and has previously been involved with Pillar Financial. Terry earned a bachelor’s of science in finance and accounting and has a master’s of business administration in finance from Rockhurst University.
Ryan Anderson Co-President & Co-Founder
Ryan Anderson is a seasoned entrepreneur starting and running several real estate related ventures. Currently, he is Co-President and Co-Founder providing overall strategic and investment decisions. Ryan leads the business development, acquisitions and investor relations functions. He has spearheaded the acquisition of over $1.5 billion of debt and real assets. He is involved in a number of other real estate related operating companies including: Silverwest Hotels, Inspired Homes, APD Management and has previously been involved in Pillar Financial. Ryan earned a bachelor’s of science in international business and Spanish, and a master’s of business administration in management from Rockhurst University.
Todd Blanding Chief Investment Officer
Todd Blanding, CFA, serves as Chief Investment Officer and sits on the Investment Committee. He is responsible for managing the investment process, which focuses on middle-market real estate opportunities.
Todd has more than 17 years of real estate investment experience. Previously, he was a vice president and portfolio manager at Essex Property Trust, where he managed a $3.1 billion portfolio of multi-family assets. His past experience also includes serving as vice president of real estate acquisition at GI Partners, where he helped grow equity commitments in the firm’s real estate funds from $750 million to $1.25 billion and sourced more than $200 million in new investments for the portfolio. Todd also served as vice president of real estate acquisitions at JPMorgan. In that role, he sourced $1.1 billion in investment opportunities and led the formation of more than $600 million in acquisition and development joint ventures on behalf of JPMorgan’s commingled funds and separate account clients.
Todd is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Michigan. He also has a master’s of business administration degree in finance, real estate and strategy from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where he graduated summa cum laude.
Kyle Siner Chief Financial Officer
Kyle Siner is the Chief Financial Officer. In that capacity, he oversees all of the accounting, financial and tax reporting functions. Previously, Kyle held executive financial positions with affiliates of Mariner Holdings. In these roles, Kyle had worked closely with Ryan and Terry Anderson on various joint ventures since 2007. Prior to that, Kyle held various financial management positions in public accounting and private industry. He began his career with Deloitte & Touche. Over 19 years, Kyle has obtained management and in-depth technical experience and expertise in acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, joint ventures, investment groups, investment funds, financial products, private equity, venture capital, and tax planning for businesses and individuals.
Kyle received a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Rockhurst University and a master’s of science of accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Roger Smith Chief Technology Officer
Roger Smith is responsible for the creation and maintenance of internal, advisor-facing and investor-facing technology systems. Previously, Roger was Chief Technology Officer at Groundbreaker, Inc., where he built that firm’s white-label real estate crowd funding product, which powers a number of current platforms. Prior to Groundbreaker, Roger was Lead Engineer for PlotWatt, Inc., a start-up energy disaggregation technology company, growing the client base from zero to several thousand. Roger holds a bachelor’s of science degree in math and computer science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was a Researcher in Duke University’s Computational Neuroscience Laboratory, and has a master’s of science in machine learning from Columbia University.
Brian Douglas Senior Vice President
Brian Douglas is a senior commercial real estate professional with over 15 years of experience in asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, valuations, due diligence, leasing and development. As Senior Vice President, Brian’s primary responsibility is oversight of equity real estate portfolios including all asset management functions as well as strategy execution at both the fund and property level. He also contributes with new business underwriting, financing and development initiatives.
Previously, Brian served as a senior associate at GE Capital Real Estate in the JV Equity Group. In that role, he held responsibility for the investment of a $1 billion portfolio of institutional-grade real estate, including 6,800 multi-family units and one million square feet of commercial office space.
Brian has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and a master’s of business administration degree in real estate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Kerry Scanlon Senior Vice President
Kerry Scanlon is a Senior Vice President and is responsible for developing and executing growth strategy across the business.
Kerry has more than 17 years of experience in the financial services and alternative investment industry. Previously, Kerry was a Regional Vice President for Realty Capital Securities, an open architecture wholesale distribution platform for public and private real estate investment programs, credit and lending programs, and other alternative investments. He worked directly with registered representatives and investment advisors, covering all channels in Kansas and Missouri. From 1999-2010 Kerry was a Regional Vice President with John Hancock, where he was responsible for the sale of variable annuities and college saving plans in Kansas and Missouri.
Kerry has a bachelor’s degree in history from Southern Methodist University.
Karah Franklin Vice President
Karah Franklin is responsible for origination, underwriting, due diligence, and closing functions. Previously, Karah held acquisitions positions at Sterling Bay, Oxford Properties and Broadway Partners, respectively, where she was responsible for underwriting and closing over $10 billion of commercial real estate investments on behalf of those firms’ institutional clients. She holds a bachelor’s degree of science (with distinction) from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a master of business administration with an emphasis in Economics, Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Caleb Holmes Vice President
Caleb Holmes, CFA, is a member of the acquisitions team. As Vice President, he is responsible for underwriting and analysis of acquisition opportunities, working with joint venture partners and lenders as well as assisting in asset management.
Caleb is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He received a bachelor of arts in political science from Yale University. He also has a master’s of business administration degree with a concentration in finance from the University of Kansas.
Rob Isselhardt Senior Vice President
Rob Isselhardt is a Senior Vice President. He oversees a team of investment analysts who work closely with the acquisitions team to model, analyze, underwrite and perform due diligence on potential real estate investments. Rob also serves as a liaison with various investment partners in coordinating deal negotiation, structuring and closing.
Previously, Rob was an associate director of investments at ORIX Capital Markets, where he worked with originators to evaluate and execute real estate focused investments. He also worked with the corporate development team on various strategic initiatives. Rob’s experience also includes working with various real estate focused divisions of ORIX Capital Markets, including acquisitions, development, structured finance, asset management, REO and CMBS surveillance.
Rob has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majored in finance and real estate.
Greg Steinberg Senior Vice President & General Counsel
Greg Steinberg joined Platform Ventures in September 2017 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. In that capacity, Greg oversees all legal affairs and is actively involved in all of the legal aspects of Platform Ventures’ business, including acquisitions, financing, asset management, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Platform Ventures, Greg spent six years as Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Bats Global Markets, Inc., now known as CBOE Global Markets, Inc., where he played a key role in Bats’ 2016 IPO, and the sale of Bats to CBOE Holdings in 2017. Greg began his career with Husch Blackwell LLP.
Greg earned a bachelor of science in economics with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas. Greg maintains license to practice law in Kansas and Missouri.
Corey Walker Senior Vice President
Corey Walker currently serves as Senior Vice President of Platform Ventures. Corey has over 17 years of industry experience and during that time, Corey has been responsible for the management, workout and disposition of over $1.1 billion in non-performing CRE and ADC loans and real assets. Corey has also lead company efforts in the entitlement, development, construction and eventual disposition of numerous real estate assets located throughout the United States ranging from mixed-use centers to master planned communities to office and retail uses.
Prior to joining Platform Ventures, Corey was with Gould Evans Associates, a nationally recognized architecture and planning company. At Gould Evans Corey was a Senior Associate providing planning consulting services to a client base that included private developers, corporations, municipalities and other various governmental jurisdictions and agencies located throughout the Midwest and Southwest United States.
Corey attended Iowa State University and graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in Community and Regional Planning with a minor in Economics. He earned a master's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the Bloch School of Business, University of Missouri, Kansas City. Corey serves on the Lewis White Real Estate Advisory Board for the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Corey is a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute and has been a member of the ULI since 2005 and is currently a member of the Residential Neighborhood Development Product Council. Corey has served as Chairman of the Young Leaders from 2008-2010 and a member of the Executive Committee from 2008-2012 both for the Kansas City District Council. Corey is also an active volunteer in the Kansas City Lead to Read Program.
Evan Welsh Vice President
Evan is a Vice President and is involved in all aspects of acquisition from sourcing and analysis to closing and transition to asset management.
Previously, Evan has held various asset management roles including managing development and stabilization of a 600,000sf mixed use project and a $760MM loan pool purchased in partnership with FDIC. Evan was also an investment associate at UBS Financial Services in Chicago where he developed asset allocation models and vetted alternative investment strategies and short term opportunities for clients. He has also worked as an independent futures trader in Chicago and a commercial loan officer at North American Savings Bank in Kansas City.
Evan earned a Master’s of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in finance and banking from the University of South Alabama.
