Position Overview

Platform is seeking a candidate for a full-time, Senior Accountant position. This position has stemmed from organic growth and will be primarily responsible for multiple investment vehicles.

The position reports to the Fund Controller & Director but will work in a team environment with a collaboration of duties from other members of the Accounting & Reporting team. This role will initially be expected to perform the responsibilities below; however, it is expected that the person in this position will take on more and greater responsibilities as they demonstrate their ability to grasp the duties presented to them and eagerness to learn more. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initially, this position will be responsible for complete maintenance of financial accounting records for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for multiple private equity real estate funds 

  • Accounting support for the Fund Controller & Director, including preparation of all accounting workpapers and account reconciliations 

  • For certain real estate investments, the coordination, review, and oversight of monthly accounting reporting received from various property managers to ensure accuracy and completeness 

  • Bank reconciliations 

  • Computations of management fees 

  • Reconciliation and settlement of inter-company accounts 

  • Cash management analysis, including historical fund model cash flows 

  • Coordination with asset managers to meet the operational demands of the investments, such as funding, payment of operational expenses, and loan draw requests 

  • Preparation and review of capital calls, distribution notices and quarterly statements to investors with coordinated assistance from the Investor Relations team 

  • Preparation of financial statements for funds or investments that are provided to internal and external stakeholders 

  • Assistance with audit and tax preparation requests 

  • Monitoring financial reporting obligations to lenders 

  • Special projects 

Requirements

  • An ambitious, positive attitude with an inquisitive mind and approach to the position 

  • Strong desire to make positive contributions to the Platform team with an eye to further one’s own development as a working professional 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred 

  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in either a corporate accounting role or public accounting 

  • CPA preferred 

  • Ability to multi-task, manage workload, and complete projects timely within deadlines without sacrificing quality 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel 

  • Experience in Great Plains accounting system a plus 

  • Knowledge of an accounting computer system a plus 

  • Attention to detail and focus on the presentation of a well-organized work product 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills 

  • Project management skills, including taking ownership of the position’s duties and responsibilities, with the ability to work towards goals and keep other affected team members up to date on progress 

  • Exemplify an unselfish and helpful approach to work that will help the entire Platform team meet its goals and objectives
